About the Actors

Rachel Hoey (Alice) is a first year student in the MA Theatre Arts program, and a former SDSU student with a BA in Theatre Performance. Rachel was featured in The Vagina Monologues and various film projects as an undergrad at SDSU, and is interested in acting, directing and theatre for young audiences.  She attended the British American Drama Academy’s Midsummer in Oxford Program and can’t wait to go abroad again this summer to Casablanca, Morocco to perform in Professor Dani Bedau’s debut play Broad Canvas. Rachel is more than thrilled to be a part of Peter Larlham’s last production at SDSU!


Kurt Newmeyer (Man/Doctor/Bellringer) is in his fourth year at SDSU. Kurt is a Theatre major with a Design and Technology emphasis, a member of SDSU's Varsity Improv Team, and the current artistic director of the Skull & Dagger student theatre group. Although Vinegar Tom is Kurt's first SDSU show as an actor, he has also been assistant technical director for several SDSU shows, including Eurydice, Lydia, House of Blue Leaves, and The Red Address. His most recent project was the technical direction for Skull & Dagger's Machinal this semester.  


Monique Hanson (Margery) is a theatre major and senior at SDSU. Performing both on and off campus in productions such as The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Wish II: Sidekicks and Villains, The Boyfriend, I Love You Because, and more. She is honored to be a part of this wonderful production and would like to thank everyone involved for such a great experience.


Jarret Addleman (Jack) is a senior in the Theatre Arts program at SDSU. Previous credits include Extremities (Broken Dolls), Nest (Skull and Dagger), Paradise Hotel (SDSU), and The Red Address (ALTO). He would like to thank Peter and Margaret Larlham, all of the designers, crew members, and fellow cast members for making this show great. He also thanks the audience, for without them, there would be no need for the show at all!


Susan Jordan-DeLeon (Joan) will be receiving her M.F.A. in Musical Theatre from San Diego State University this May.  She has been an adjunct faculty member at Grossmont College for the past five years, where she teaches musical theatre. She would like to say thank you to Peter Larlham for this wonderful opportunity, as well as the cast, crew, design and creative teams. 


Anna Krieg (Susan) is a junior at San Diego State University, majoring in Theatre Performance. Her prior claims to fame on campus include shouting the word "VAGINA!" in the middle of Campanile Walk as part of promotion for the annual SDSU production of the Vagina Monologues. When Anna was a sophomore, she played the "Angry Vagina;" this year, Anna assistant directed the show. She is very pleased to be a part of Vinegar Tom


Sunny Smith (Ellen) is in her final year at SDSU. She is completing a Theatre Performance major with a minor in Anthropology. A long-time participant in the San Diego theatre scene, Sunny's previous acting credits include Miss Electricity (La Jolla Playhouse), Wit, Dracula, Hansel & Gretel, Julius Caesar, King O’ the Moon (North Coast Rep), Into the Woods, Heidi Chronicles (New Village Arts), Frozen (Ion Theatre), H.M.S. Pinafore, Daughter of the Regiment (SD Lyric Opera), Not Now Darling (Scripps Ranch Theatre), SUDS (Stagehouse Theatre), Smokey Joe’s Café (Saville Theatre), Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day (Don Powell/Theatre of the World Fest), Symphony of Clouds (Don Powell) Doubt, Enigma Variations (SDSU Experimental). Sunny will be continuing her theatre education in the M.F.A. Acting program at the University of Florida this fall. 


Shane Allen (Packer) is a junior, and is ecstatic to be performing in his first main-stage show here at SDSU. He has had the pleasure of acting in State's touring version of Dear Harvey: The Stories of Harvey Milk for the past three semesters, and is excited to get a few more shows under his belt before the end of the year. He would like everyone to know that Packer really isn't such a bad guy once you get to know him.  


Megan McGrory (Goody) is thoroughly enjoying her experience playing the sadistic Goody in Vinegar Tom. This is her third year at SDSU as a General Theatre Arts Major, focusing on both acting and stage management. Her latest theatrical endeavors include assistant stage managing for last season’s Doubt: A Parable as well as the most recent department show, Zanna, Don’t! After several years of hiding out in the techie shadows, she has finally decided to be bold and re-enter the world of performance.
Jackie Sieck (Singer) is a sophomore at SDSU majoring in Theatre Performance. Jackie was last seen in the undergraduate production of Wish II: Villians and Sidekicks. She is very excited to be in her third SDSU production and is thrilled to unleash the music that has been developed over the past year. Jackie would like to thank Thomas Hodges and "The Singers" for a year of musical bliss. She would also like to express her gratitude to Peter Larlham for the opportunity to work on this show.  Lastly, Jackie sends her love and thanks to her family for their continued support. 


Angela Evers (Singer) is not a small town girl, nor is she living a lonely world. She is a junior at SDSU majoring in Theatre Performance. Angela is psyched to be performing in Vinegar Tom, her second SDSU show. She was recently seen in the undergrad musical, Wish II: Villains & Sidekicks, and has performed in several San Diego County shows, including the American Rose Theatre's production of Spring Awakening. Angela recently received an honorary mention from the National Association of Teachers of Singing competition in Music Theatre. She would like give a special thank you to to Peter Larlham for giving her the opportunity to work on his last show here at SDSU. She also thanks Thomas Hodges for putting his heart and soul into the show every night through his music. Angela's favorite charm is the Disarming Spell, ("Expelliarmus!"). She is a continued supporter of Dumbledore's Army.

Allison Boettcher (Singer) is thrilled to be a part of Peter Larlham’s production of Caryl Churchill’s Vinegar Tom. She has been working on the show with Thomas Hodges and her fellow talented singers since this past September, and is very excited to finally perform the music that they have all dedicated so much time and work to. Allison was recently seen in The Boyfriend, Wish 2: A Musical Revue, and Zanna, Don’t! at San Diego State. Allison would like to thank Peter Larlham for the opportunity to be a part of this moving production, as well as Thomas Hodges, her fellow singers and cast-mates, and the tech and crew for all of their hard work. A junior majoring in Theatre Performance, she looks forward to another year of opportunities to work with this group of talented individuals, and hopes that you enjoy the show!

Erika Appel (Singer) is a theatre performance major at San Diego State University and is honored to be a part of this production of Vinegar Tom. She has also been seen at SDSU in Wish 2: Villains and Sidekicks and is a graduate of the Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts (PCPA).

Chanel Lucia (Singer) is a freshman Theatre Performance major at San Diego State University. Chanel first appeared in an SDSU production last semester as the character Ceci in Lydia. She would like to thank Peter Larlham, Thomas Hodges, and the cast and crew of Vinegar Tom for such an amazing opportunity and experience.
